What's with the google ads on topics?

I just noticed that when you bring up a board topic there's the "ads by google" frame at the bottom of the screen.

I'm not complaining, it's unobtrusive. I'm just curious about it.

lol. This is the result when people are not willing to pay premium and complain about premium features not being available to all. If the admin is not able to funt this website advertising will be the only option or even closing the zone but hopefully the last won't happen lol.

Fortunately, the google frame is unobtrusive, and, if it helps the zone, then good deal.

Ya. We're seeing if it works. There's also a sponsors thing on the home page before you log in. That's over at text-link-ads.com if you want to buy a link to show up there for some reason. I won't put ads where they would become annoying, as I'd have to deal with them too. Ads between posts? yuck.

Thanks j-squared for making the Google ads frame unobtrusive!

Whilst I have no issue with the frame, my question is: why the ActiveX control? What purpose does it serve; and is it a spying tool for Google?

In other posts on these forums, I have stated that as part of my defence against spyware, I don't allow ActiveX to run; I believe this strategy protects me against 90% of threats.

I personally don't mind the google frame.
On another note, I don't pay because I don't see the need to pay for such a survice.
If that makes me a jackass then I apologize. Everyone needs to get paid.
After all, how would the server be properly taken care of without money?

i'm premium now, and i am making sure that i will renew it when my time is up. as for the google ads, i kinda don't notice it, only if i scroll to the bottom....which i'd have no reason to do
